January is here and if one of your KnitYear resolutions is to make a sweater, we are here to help you get going!
Our 5-session class cover each step related to knitting a sweater - from choosing a pattern & yarn to gauging the size and even the final steps of finishing and blocking. Participants are free to choose a pattern from either the Amy Herzog Custom Fit Sweater Program or their own sweater pattern. In the first session, we will divide the class into two. Knitters who want to make a CustomFit pattern will work with Patti to complete the steps required to generate a CustomFit pattern. Those of you who have another pattern in mind will start with Tina who will give you all the info you need to get started.
After the first class, knitters will come together for the remaining sessions where Tina will teach the skills everyone needs to complete a sweater. While we hope you can find a sweater yarn you love at Yarn Culture, there is NO requirement to purchase yarn from Yarn Culture to participate in this class.
Interested? Register via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via phone 585-442-8002. We will also be collecting registrations at Yarn Culture. Read on for a description of what to expect in each class.

Custom Fit Students: There is homework for you before class begins. You will need to bring your measurements to the first class. You MUST have a gauge swatch to generate your CustomFit pattern before Class 2. We will provide the information you need for the swatch at registration. You can knit it before the first class or during class. If you have questions, feel free to contact Patti via email or at the shop.

Class Three: Front - February 25, 1:00 - 3:00 pm (THREE WEEKS AFTER CLASS 2)
Why not do the prettiest part next? Discussion will focus around increases and decreases which will give your sweater a polished look. If you have a cardigan in mind, we can even show you how to make both sides at once!
Class Four: Back - March 18, 1:00 - 3:00 pm (THREE WEEKS AFTER CLASS 3)
Almost there! The last large piece to finish. At this step, waist shaping will be one of the main focuses. We will show how waist-shaping for any figure is useful and also show how to do it to flatter your individual figure.
