Yndi is easy to knit but doesn't look like it - due to its sophisticated, unusual rib pattern. The design is ideal for beginners and for anyone who wants to try out an exciting ribbing technique. The hat in three sizes (S, M, L) starts with a long-tail cast-on and is knitted in the round from bottom to top. A classic 1x1 rib is combined with slipped stitches for the texture pattern. Simple decreases shape the crown of the hat.

GAUGE (after blocking):
30 sts and 40 rnds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over 1x1 ribbing after blocking using 3 mm (US 2.5) needles.
3 mm (US 2.5) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle and a set of 20 cm (8 in) double-pointed needles (DPN(s).
