A perfectly simple crescent shawl that requires only 440 yards (or 100g) of fingering weight yarn and will be an elegant accessory for your wardrobe.

  • Pascuali's Merino Baby (Fingering; 100% Virgin Wool Organic Merino Extra Fine; 240yds [220m] per 50g) - 2 balls in the color chosen
  • Optional Pattern Add-on: Digital copy (via Ravelry); provide your Ravelry username or email address to receive your pattern.

If you do not find the color you are looking for, feel free to order from our full Merino Baby Collection

Sample shown uses a different yarn. We have paired Merino Baby from Pascuali as it is a beautiful match of fiber and weight to replicate the original design. Merino Baby comes in 50g balls, so two are required to meet the yardage requirements.

This simple crescent shaped shawl can be made with just 1 skein of fingering (sock weight) yarn. It alternates bands of slipped sts, garter stitch and short rows.

The crescent is asymmetrical (it’s longer towards one side) and its characteristic shape is achieved by working increases over the edges.

Approx. 80" [200 cm] from side to side and 15" [32.5 cm] from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking).
