Sample shown is knit in a different yarn.  Our color combination that is most similar is Pure, Midnight, Caramel and Lava.

We've paired this pattern with our favorite 100% organic Merino yarn – Cheeky Merino Joy by Rosy Green Wool. We’ve created a color combination that is our take on the color palette Max created and then we’ve added other’s we think you’ll love. If you’re the sort of knitter who prefers to create the combinations for your knits, we encourage you to peruse our open stock assortment of 41 colors.

It’s important to note that in this pattern, Color B is the main color and is the color that comes with 2 skeins while the other three colors only require one skein each.

Construction

Opus is a triangular shaped shawl that looks much more complicated than it is. Max uses slipped stitches in this design to create the illusion of woven colored stripes. As a result, this all-over pattern is created using only one strand of yarn per row! The pattern includes both written and charted instructions and Max includes tips to help knitters memorize the pattern.

Length: 70 in / 178 cm; Height: 34 in / 86 cm

Needles 

US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, 60 in (150 cm) in length⁠

Gauge (after blocking) 

25 sts and 28 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in mosaic pattern. Different gauge will affect yardage and finished size.  Please note that two colors use 100% of the skein.
