MOUNTAIN HOPPER HAT & MITTS
by Kirsten Kapur
HAT: This lighthearted hat features a ribbed, folded brim, crisp blocks of color, and simple colorwork. It is worked from the bottom up on double pointed-needles. If preferred, the body of this hat may be worked on a 16” circular before switching to double-pointed needles for the crown decreases.
MITTS: These colorful mitts are designed to pair with my Mountain Hopper Hat pattern. They have a long cuff for extra warmth, and are intended to be worn with a bit of slouch. The model is wearing the size M mitts with about 1.25” (3 cm) of positive ease at the palm (not including the thumb) and 1.5” (3.5 cm) of positive ease at the wrist. If you prefer a more fitted mitt, select a size that more closely matches the measurements of your wist and palm.
If you choose to make the hat and mitts in mYak Tibetan Cloud you will have enough yarn to make the entire set with one skein per color.
Hat Finished Size: 15.75 (17, 18.25)” at brim, relaxed. Will stretch to fit up to a 20.75 (23, 24.25)” head.
