This August 2020, Melanie released her mesmerizing Nixe (mermaid in German). Of course we fell in love with the colorways that she designed her lovely mermaid wrap in, but those were limited edition colorways that were gone ever so quickly. Yet, our hearts still longed for the siren call of Melanie's Nixe shawl. Fortunately, the magical color sprites at Pascuali left us with several equally splendid Balayage colorways to stitch up new jeweled scales of our own. So for those of us ready to lean into the siren call, we can be joyed to know that there are many more mermaids in the sea.
For our Nixe sample, we were drawn toward a delicate contrast, inspired by watercolor seascapes from the sandy pebbly shore.
Melanie's Description:
This is Nixe, a two-colored asymmetrical triangle shawl, with an easy-to-knit yet beautiful stitch pattern that resembles a mermaid's tail. I loved making it and was a bit sad once all stitches were bound off.
