Cowgirlblues Merino Sock, like all cowgirlblues yarns, is locally produced in South Africa.
The sheep and goats are farmed in the Karoo and parts of the Southern, Western and Eastern Capes. The wool is cleaned and combed in local factories, where most of the yarns are commercially spun. A small proportion of the yarn is handspun in the Eastern Cape.
Merino Sock is a heavy fingering, more like sport weight, with approximately 328 yds/100g in a skein. The stitch definition is crisp and clean while the hand is soft with a lovely drape.
