Knit Year Resolution Update by Dawn V.

Feb 3rd

January is a time to reflect and make resolutions for 2017 - eat less processed food, practice more yoga, organize closets and clean out the basement.  But what about knitting resolutions?

During the next 12 months, the Yarn Culture Team will tackle our own Knit Year Resolutions and share them with all of you.  And we’ll have a space in the shop for you to share your own KY Resolutions.  We look forward to hearing about your own resolutions and will share them in our blog!

Here are a few of my KY Resolutions:

  • Knit something for me
  • Knit a sweater that fits me
  • Organize my stash (and maybe de-stash a wee bit?)
  • Finish those Unfinished Objects

I’m tackling my first two resolutions now.  After knitting at least a half dozen hats for holiday gifts, I’m knitting something for me.  I’ve chosen Targetty , a shawl by Melanie Berg knit in a single skein of Walk Collection Cozy Merino that I’ve coveted since I laid eyes on it.  The colorway is Salina and it reminds me of oxidized copper.  It is so much fun to knit as the color changes from copper to turquoise.

I have also cast on for Vitamin D, a popular top-down cardigan by Heidi Kirrmaier.  I’m knitting it in Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy.   We recently received a second sample of Vitamin D in the shop and it’s longer in the back than out first one and I absolutely love it!  Vitamin D is a flattering sweater for all ages and body sizes, so I’m confident that it will not only be perfect, but also a great staple in my wardrobe!  If all goes well, that will be a sweater that fits me!

How are you doing with your KY Resolutions?  Please let us know …

Happy Knitting!
